CANCELLATION POLICY

If you withdraw from a chapter

You may withdraw your entry at any time before race day by emailing us. What is refunded depends on how far ahead of race day you cancel — the tiers are set out in full in our refund policy. Instead of a refund you may ask to transfer your place to another chapter, another edition, or another runner, subject to availability and our approval.

If we cancel or reschedule a chapter

A backyard ultra depends on land access, permissions, marshals, and safe conditions. If any of these fail, BFAI may cancel or reschedule a chapter. Reasons include, but are not limited to:

• Extreme or unsafe weather.
• Loss or denial of venue, route, or regulatory permissions.
• Government or local-authority orders, or public-safety directions.
• Events beyond our reasonable control (force majeure) — including natural disaster, fire, epidemic, or civil disruption.

Your options if we cancel or reschedule

If we cancel or move a chapter you booked, you may choose either a full refund of your entry fee or a transfer of your entry to the rescheduled date or another chapter on the calendar. We will contact you at your registered email with the choices and a deadline to respond.

BFAI is not liable for travel, accommodation, or any other costs you incur in connection with a cancelled or rescheduled chapter. We recommend booking refundable travel where possible.
