1. Who we are

BigFoot Adventures India organises a series of backyard ultra running events (“chapters”) across India. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “BFAI” mean the proprietorship named above; “you” means a visitor to this site or a registered participant.

2. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to register on your own behalf. A participant under 18 may take part only with the written consent of a parent or legal guardian, and their guardian’s details are collected at registration. You must be in good health and adequately prepared for an endurance event of the category you enter.

3. Registration and payment

Entries are confirmed only once payment is received. Payments on this site are processed by Razorpay; some chapters also accept entries through our third-party registration partner. Entry fees, categories, and dates are shown per chapter and may change until an entry is confirmed. Refunds, cancellations, and transfers are governed by our refund and cancellation policies.

4. Assumption of risk

A backyard ultra is a physically demanding event run over long distances and hours, often on trail and in the dark. You understand and accept the inherent risks — including injury, illness, and, in rare cases, worse — and you take part on your own responsibility. You confirm you are medically fit to participate and will stop if a marshal or medic instructs you to. Any waiver and risk consent you accept at registration form part of these terms.

5. Race rules and conduct

Every participant races under the published rules. Decisions of the race director and timekeepers are final. We may disqualify or remove any participant for a rules breach, unsafe conduct, or behaviour that endangers or harasses others, without refund.

6. Photography and media

Chapters are photographed and filmed. By taking part you agree that BFAI may use images and footage that include you to document and promote the series, without further approval or payment. If you have a specific concern, contact us and we will do our best to accommodate it.

7. Intellectual property

The BigFoot Adventures India name, logo, site content, and design are ours or our licensors’, and may not be copied or reused without permission. The backyard ultra format itself originates with Gary “Lazarus Lake” Cantrell and is used with respect for that lineage.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, BFAI is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss or damage arising from risks you have accepted by participating. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited. Where we are found liable, our total liability to you will not exceed the entry fee you paid for the chapter concerned.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published here on the date of your use or registration, shown by the “last updated” date above.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Pune, Maharashtra have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
