FIELD NOTES

Loop 14: 47:08 from bib 11, bib 18 back in 50:26

BIGFOOT ADVENTURES INDIA · 10 Oct 2026

Loop 14 is in: all three runners still in the race came back inside the hour, and fourteen yards is 93.9 km, or 58.3 miles.

Bib 11 was quickest, in 47:08, with 12 min 52 sec to spare. Bib 18 followed in 50:26 and bib 17 in 50:33, who had 9 min 27 sec to spare. Nobody went out in loop 14, so 43 are out so far, and three are in the race, all on 14 yards: bibs 11, 17 and 18.

What the splits say. Bib 11 won back 2 min 27 sec on loop 13. He has now run 10 hours 55 minutes of the 14, averaging 46:49 a loop, about 13 minutes of rest an hour; his last five average 47:04 against 47:35 for his first five. Bib 18 was 1 min 28 sec quicker than in loop 13, and his last five average 50:28 against 52:06 for his first five. He has now run 12 hours of the 14, about an hour more than bib 11. Bib 17 won back 3 min 34 sec on his 54:07 in loop 13, but his last five loops average 52:25 against 47:27 for his first five, and over those five he has been giving bib 11 about five minutes a loop.

The context. This is a last-one-standing race with no finish line: it ends when one runner is left, and the winner has to complete one more yard than the last runner to stop. The Ahmedabad chapter record is 18 yards, set by Amit Bhattacharjee in 2025, so the three left are 4 yards short of it. Yard 24 is 100 miles, 10 yards away. The best of this season so far is 25 yards, at Pune. Together the whole field has run 350 yards, 2,347 km.
