Loop 4: Surajit Sinha Roy finishes Backyard 4 in 1:55:06 of running

Bib 430, Surajit Sinha Roy, has finished the four yards of Backyard 4: 29:18, 28:20, 28:08 and 29:20. That is 1 hour 55 minutes 6 seconds of running for 26.8 km. He was back 29:20 into loop 4, eight minutes ahead of the next finisher, and the first Backyard 4 finisher of the day by the clock.

He told us this morning that this was a practice run. A 30 km run was in his training block for today, so he joined the Backyard for it. He is back from the Silk Route Ultra in Ladakh last month.

On BigFoot’s records this is the fastest Backyard 4 finish. One caveat: the only earlier Backyard 4 finisher with loop times on file is Pune 2025, at about 3 hours 22 minutes. Other editions logged loop counts only, so they can’t be compared.

Bibs 412 and 415, Harshit Agrawal and Priyanka Priyadarshi, finished their four yards too, in 2:56:18 and 3:00:29 of running. Seventeen runners have now completed Backyard 4.

Loop 4 had 53 returns logged. The quickest Backyard Ultra loop was bib 2 in 36:57.

Seventeen runners are out so far. Bibs 403 and 423 stopped in loop 4, and bibs 10, 402, 405, 418, 803, 804, 806, 820 and 826 timed out in loop 4; all eleven finish on 3 yards. Bibs 406 and 407 did not start loop 4 and also finish on 3 yards. Bibs 7 and 828 are out after 4 yards. Bib 3 finished loop 3 and was disqualified at the corral for loop 4, so finishes on 3 yards, and bib 401 timed out earlier in the race.

Thirty-four are in the race, and every loop 4 return is now confirmed. The next bell is at 12:00.
